Question Magura Hydraulic Clutch Failure when hot

I have a Magura hydraulic clutch on my '05 Road King Classic. We were riding in extremely hot weather in the mountains and my clutch failed completely. Stopping and letting it cool off resulted in the restoration of function (sort of). When we got back to the coast where it was cool, it worked fine. Anybody with a similar experience? Fixes?

Also, it says I have to use Mineral Oil as the fluid. Anybody heard anything different?

Used to use a Magura setup on a racing ATV. Never had an issue with heat, except when the plastic line was melted on a pipe, the stainless replacement lines are much better.

Mineral oil, or Magura oil are the ones to use.

Bleeding the setup is pretty difficult, you might bleed it again just to make sure there isn't any air in the line.

I have the setup on my 2008 Ultra (needed to machine a few things.......) and it works like charm. So did the Magura on my previous 107. Bleeding is involved as you have to take the trans cover off, move the actuator in a position that gets you to the bleed valve. Straight foward from there.

Thanks for the info. I'll try the new oil. A friend of mine speculates that the fluid might have actually boiled.

Thanks for the tip. I will try to find some Magura oil and re-bleed the system.
