Baker makes a 6 speed drop in that fits the 5 speed case and their are a couple others out there that also make them.
Closer ratios in the 6 speed - with 6th being a overdrive - you will notice a liitle more shifting with the 6 speed - but you will also get a little better gas mileage on the hiway in 6th gear due to the lower rpm's. - Top end will go up a little but for my money - I'd put it into the engine ie: cams, head work.

jus my 2c's worth

Six speed has its advantages, but there is that whining sound in 5th gear on those 6 speeds, somewhat sublet and I suppose you get used to it but it's there. Love my ride but I do try to get out of 5th asap.

haven't noticed any whine.
In my 6, 1st thru 5th are stock.
6th is an overdrive.
After a while, I find myself reaching for a 7th sometimes. Hehehe

Have the S/E 6 speed in a 03 FLHTI, it's a perfect match to a warmed up 95". Over 96,000 miles and NO concerns.

Got a S&S 6 speed in my 98 RK,love it but there was alot of grinding on the stock case.If I had it to do again,I'd go with Baker.

Unless you cruise at 80 mph, rpms above 3000, there is no need for a 6 speed. If your at 65-70 and shift to 6 gear your lugging the motor. I personally cruise at or around 70 and rpms stay around 2800-3000 which is where the power is on my motor. So if you go beyond that often then go for a 6 speed if not don't waste your money.
