Clicking when engaging clutch

I've got an 06 Street Bob. Did a kit this winter making 100/100 for now (maybe more later).

Noticed in the last couple of weeks a clicking noise sometimes when I engage the clutch from a stop. Not all the time, but 1/2 the time. Kinda sounds like clicking a ball point pen. I was going to do the SE clutch spring when/if the stock clutch gave out.

Any idea what this clicking sound could be?
Should I go ahead with a spring upgrade?

Thanks for the comments!

Check one more thing before you get into the spring. Make sure your clutch handle isn't hanging up slightly in the housing on the handle bar and snapping back making a sound just like the one you described. I've had it happen on a couple of bikes, just a little click about a second after I released the lever. Hope it's that simple...........

Faast Ed is an unknown quantity at this point
I have seen divots worn in the ramps before that made a clicking feel in the handle.

Is that the type of click you are describing? Or do you mean a loud audible click?

I'll check on the first suggestion in a bit.

The click is a sound, not a feeling from the clutch handle. It's not LOUD, but it can be heard. It does sound like it's coming from the lower part of the bike, BUT with exhaust, cars etc...I may not be pinpointing it correctly.

With the bike off, pulled the clutch in and out a few times. No sticky, no clicky. Will ride some more tomorrow and see if I can add any information. Thanks for the help so far.
