I'm looking for a complete rebuild kit for an '87 FXST w/5-speed. Don't care about the gears, they're fine... just need the gaskets, bearings, all the small parts like the shift drum, forks, etc.
Seems I have to buy two separate kits from J&P: 602-231 & 602-232. Anyone have luck with these kits (seems they're available from just about everyone). I only want to go through this once... and that wasn't by wanted desire.
115,000+ miles... never been apart... about time it s.t.b.
Issue started with an occasional lockup in 4th under *ahem* heavy acceleration... locked up and wouldn't go into 5th... now I have to push down on shifter until I feel it stop... then lift up to get next gear.
