Greg, you talking about the seal that's on the shifter that comes out of the transmission..?? If so, sorry, no ya got to pull the outer and inner primaries (and all stuff in between) to replace it. Also look at the shifter lever...advise getting a new one cause those dang things are the same problem..

nope

on the shifter (heal/toe on the FLH) there is a shaft that runs from the 2 levers, through a boss in the inner primary where it connects to a shord rod then a shaft runs back the tranny. the shifter levers were real sloppy on the shaft so I bought new bushings. the trouble is trying to get them them swapped (esp the back one) there just isn't much room to get any tools in there.

for that matter do i need a press to remove them or can they be driven out with a punch??

Thanks
Greg

Smile Hey Texan

Thanks for the help I removed everything and swapped the bushing at the front and the leaver goin down to the tranny......

Doing all of this may have saved my but too, when I got the clutch hub off I noticed it had a crack running down the length of it (along the keyway) Sure as hell Don need that falling off on a ride!!!
