new style compensator

Okay, I guess I'll be the guinea pig. I ordered it through zanottis at a much better price I might add and should be here in a week or so.

There is anew SE compensator engine sprocket with heavier springs that actually works and doesn't(from what I've been told) make that awful whack on start up when the stock unit bottoms out. The new piece has the stock number of teeth which I believe is 34. It would be nice if the Moco would offer it in a 30T with the heavier compensator, probably be a good seller as it is the easiest way to reduce the tall gearing with removing the primary and buying other belts etc.

Merry Christmas Guys and Gals. I was just looking for this last night. Got it all put together last week and I'm pretty happy with it. Most of the noise from the primary is gone, seems to shift a little better, and no clank at startup. I also went to the full syn-mobile 1 ATF and am very happy with that. It seems like it took a few miles to let it settle in and got quieter as I went. Between the new comp and the atf I think it was worth the work and money. NOW to get rid of the top end noise LOL.

Sounds like it worked well for you. I'd buy one in hearbeat if came with fewer teeth.

I just put mine on today and the stock one is a joke compared to the new one. Can't ride for a while to find out. Mike

I just ordered one. I will install this week and give some feedback. I would love to hear all if they have done. What I have read the opinions are positive on it.

I installed earlier this week. The bike runs better, starts better and the driveline is seamless between gears. I don't know how to explain it but the tranny and engine are running in the same time zone, smooth as silk. If you get on her the engine just performs. Its a good replacement for the stock wimpy compensator which is stock on these bike. If you have kickback, starter bang this could be your salvation. I am very happy with the mod.

I bought .015 hardened shims for the rocker arms and machined arms back to .004 clearance. Mine were between .012 and.018 (service limit is .025)and this got rid of the tic, tic.
