06 Dyna - 1st gear whirring and clunk

My 06 Superglide has recently started to make a louder than normal whirring/buzzing noise when downshifting from 2nd. It also makes a clunk noise when letting the clutch out while starting from 1st after sitting in gear sometimes, almost like its jumping into gear again or something. Both noises seem to be coming from the primary.
Bike as almost 9k on it, and it might have been doing this stuff for awhile I suppose, and I just didn't notice. It rides fine, no slippage or anything or any other weird stuff that I've noticed.
Do either of these seem like symptoms to be concerned about? Fluids are up to proper levels. I'm about to service the engine, primary and trans, along with clutch adjustment.

Thanks!

I had an 06 SG. On a trip same thing started to happen then about 1000 miles later it sounded like a coffe grinder. Main transmission bearing shot 1200 mile form home on a Memorial Day week end. 8000 miles on it whe it happened.

I woudl get it looked at, there were some bad bearings on some of the SG's

Have you checked your primary chain tension?

This bike is supposed to have an automatic chain tensioner. There is no inspection cover on it.

Everything I am reading about the infamous 06 Dyna bearing failure describes a noise when the clutch is out, which goes away when the bike is in gear? Mine makes noise only when shifting down to 1st after letting the clutch out completely. The noise goes away when pulling in the clutch. The clunk happens when releasing the clutch after sitting in gear, then getting going.
