compensator nut questions
Hey Guys, my 97 fatboy started making noise last season, seams to have started after I was stupidly hammering it thru 4 gears just after starting it up
and pulling away no warm up.. dont know if that is related or not but wanted to mention it. makes a slapping clonking sound seams to run fine but makes horrible noise at idle and throttle up thru all gears and revs.. re adjusted lifters still there. checked compensator nut but really know what to look for it seemed tight as it would not move but I really couldnt torque it,
#1 should the slider and the gear have a big space between the cam lobes ?
#2 and the best way to keep it from turning to loosen & tighten the nut ?
