Just what the doctor ordered

Thats great news, Im definetly type A and research my A$$ off before making a purchase. Im retired USAF and am involved with our local American Legion post and we ride allot so me and my ageing back are definetly looking forward to this change.
My next venture will be IDS, chrome lower legs, drop the front and back, Dab up the chrome here and there.
Im bit.
This is bar none the best Cycle info forum around!
Thanks all for the help.

I'm the same way. Research is a must. When I bought my 508's, I knew they where perfect because my buddy put them on his scoots. He had a Fatboy and a Road King. He let me borrow his Road King once and I was SOLD on the bars! I didn't even look at anything else. No need.

Too bad you don't live in the area. I lucked out with chrome. Right across the street from where I work is an industrial chromer, among other things. I brought all my parts to him and he chromed them for me.

I've been a member on this forum for a while. It has it's pros and cons but one thing is a cold hard undeniable fact... it is the most informative of them all. And I frequent almost all of them. I like this place too.

The addiction is fun. As long as you don't starve yourself for it. lol...

No problem bro, my pleasure.

Take it easy!

See if you can ride one that is slammed before you spend the bucks. They look great, but, to me, they are not very comfortable. If it were about looks, I would have a streched hardtail or softail and then go the heritage look. A bagger is about comfort.

I'm late to this discussion, but here goes:
These bars are Wild 1 Chubby 10099

I like 'em for their 'reach' although the angle of the grips, as someone described earlier in this thread, is a little bit too "pulled back". Its very much a personal comfort thing. You really need to try them (all) out if you can.

Lowerd

The only reason I was considering lowering mine was to get a firmer planted feel. I hope I wont sacrifice comfort by lowering the front and back with the the lowered H-D springs and shocks?

As far as the wild one 508's go, I wont truely know untill I make a couple of hundred mile trip. Unfortunately no one I know in my area has 508's installed on thier King, so I pretty much had to rely on internet info.

From what Ive read most love them. Its all about the comfort to me, looks are secondary.

Thanks for the info Paul,,, Nice Ride Masstch

Hey EZDAD. I have the 508's on my 2005 Road King Classic. Couldn't be happier! It cleaned up the front end (wiring), and I added the braided cables at the same time. I'm 5'10", and these bars were perfect! I have a short inseam (30"), so was having difficulty going "flatfooted" at stops. I ended up buying the HD Sundowner seat, and sent it to "Allen" for some mods. For $100 he lowered me 1", and added memory foam to the seat. I couldn't be any more comfortable or happier with this choice. I was going to use the "lowering kit" - front and rear, but the price (add labour in there), and the fact it might affect cornering made me make the above choices. I'm very happy I did! Anyway, just my
Ride safe,
Mike

Front Axle Holder Studs

Ok I need some help!!!! I removed my front wheel today and had no problems until I was installing the axle holder on the right front fork. This just happened to be the time my "torque wrench" went T*Ts up and I snapped a stud. Darn wrench want even snap action anymore. I think I’ll go back to a dial indicator. No problem removing both the studs, with one stretch and the other broken all the hardware gets replaced.

I was wondering if anyone had an idea on what lock-tight to use when reinstalling the studs. Blue would be my first thought.

Any other recommendations?
