Lady Godiva, do you have RK Custom bars on your bike? If so, how do you like them? Do they look ok with a windshield on?

Hey Vulc - nope - they're not stock. They're big 'ol beach bars that were on the bike when I got her. I'd have to look at the paperwork to see what kind they are.

Some people hate the "pushing a wheelbarrel" feel of beach bars like mine, but I love them. Then again, I'm 5'10" tall and have long arms. I do have to reach when moving the bike around, parking, etc. but it's not a hassle to me.

Here's a little better picture:

They look great with a windshield too. If you click on "Lady Godiva" you should get a pulldown menu and be able to look at my profile, which has a picture of me on the bike with the windshield on. Or if you look back in this thread a couple pages the same picture is posted.

EDIT: Here it is:

Vulc, Not sure what LG is running, but here is a shot of mine w/ the RK Custom bars and the Harley Windscreen. This is a 14" shield.

EzDad, Sorry it took so long. The picture of my bike was taken a little over a week ago up in Makaha on the west Shore. It was raining petty hard on the North Shore and out past Hawaii Kai. Then I went over to the Big Island to visit Volcanoes National Park with my son and his fiancée. We had a great time but no bike rides . We did take a horse back ride. It was great. Over 4 hours long and we had two a great guides (one in the picture). We got to do some serious riding. Its been awhile but I ain't forgot everything.

Aloha

Shorter Road king shocks

I am going to put 12" shocks on RK. HD lowering air shock. Anyone have any oppinions on ride and any issues. I ride 2 up half the time and I understand the air pressure is double vs the stock 13". Is it a stiffer ride? thanks

I am using the 12" heavy duty Progressive 440 shocks. Much better ride than stock 13" air shocks. I have heard the 12" air are very harsh.

Do a search and you should see previous comments on them from those that have had them.

Here are two numbers;
46287-04 Fits 04-later Road King Custom models $69.95
46316-04 Fits 98-later Road King Classic models $199.95

There is someone on this site that made a post awhile back where he used the 46287-04 on a Classic. Think he said it worked well and cost less.

I've got them on my RK Custom... The ride has always been good. I run 6 lbs. solo and 12 lbs. 2 up... I hate the pump thing though... always have to drag it with you because they lose air over several days. I got a sweet deal on a pair of 12" Progressive 440s I'm going to try.
