What are our choices for Amps? List.
I have been looking around for an economical way to boost my sound system. There are a ton of great speakers and some at some really great prices on some sites online, but for amps we **** outta luck. Not too many good small amps out there that will fit in the fairing. here's my list. Please add:
Arc Mini: This seems hands down the number one product. Its gotten a bunch of great reviews. Its about 300 bucks so its not too economical but still the number one choice.
Hawg Wired: Another great Amp, but WAY too expensive
Hog Tunes: great for plug and play, but for 200.00 buck its barely louder than the radio
Titan: about 350.00 on ebay. again pretty expensive
Blaupunkt PnP: 150.00, I thought this would be a great choice and every single person that has tried it out took it off their bikes and called it junk
What else is there that would fit in the fairing that provieds good sound and is not too pricey. Any ideas?

My hot tunes amp is a big improvement over stock. This is on an 04 with just two speakers. don't know how it works in other years or bikes with 4 speakers.

I used to know a guy that would buy an amp from Walmart, I think it was a Sony. He would cut down the case to make it even smaller, and mount it right on top of the stock radio. Sounded great, and didn't cost him a lot of money at all.

Never needed much more racket than the stock one puts out. Listened to the XM while running out west, no problems at constant speeds of 85 mph and a few burst of 100 mph. Just my 2 cents worth.

Yeah there has to be a way to get a decent sounding system with out dropping big bucks. The hogtunes system has a fair price, but I think it pushes 30watts and thats only a bit more than stock. Now I'm sure quality is MUCH greater - but is it worth 300 bucks for only 30 watts. At high speeds with a sport fairing on a Road Glide I have lost quite a bit of sound.
I have seen some pretty good speakers ie: Infinity Kappa, MQ Quarts, etc. listed from 60-80 bucks. There has to be a decent sounding amp that fits for 150 bucks. We only need 50 watts x 2 channels. Size is the biggest factor to deal with because there are a few amps that produce the watts from good brands but won't fit in the fairing.
Any other ideas?

I have a hog tunes setup with the rear speaker kit and i really dont care for it. To me it added way too much bass in the front speakers and i think it lacks some in clarity also. I wouldnt have bought the thing but when they ordered all the replacement paint stuff for my crashed glide classic they screwed up and got ultra stuff so i needed to cover the holes for the stock speakers and the hog tunes were cheaper than the H/D stuff.. You get what you pay for. If i did it over id have done the H/D kit.

Tested the elf and it is a knock off and it looks like the ARC, but thats where it ends. Not near as clean as the ARC very muddy sounding, and did not come close to its power output rating. I put it on the bench with the ARC mini and it gave up after 8 hours. Save your money and get quality, you get what ya pay for
