Rider backrest installed today
I have an '07 RG with a mustang seat. Today I had the adjustable rider backrest installed and went for a ride. Gotta tell you that it felt very good - supported the back and took pressure off the wrists. I plan to use it only for longer rides; will take it off around town. I'm looking forward to giving it a good workout on the way to Sturgis. If you have pain issues on longer rides, an adjustable backrest might be something to consider. Some of you purists out there might not like the look of it, but I'm at the age where comfort on a long ride is worth a lot.

Awright, here are some pics. The first one is without the backrest, and the rest have it. One pic shows the backrest in the down position - this allows for easy on and off the bike. Click on the thumbnails for a larger view.

I have one ordered. How long did it take you to install it? Very difficult?

Backrests and highway pegs are THE two indespensible accessories for any bike.

I think the backrest looks good on your bike. Thanks for posting the pictures. Sorry I flamed you for not posting them right away. LOL

I had my dealer put it on - 1/2 hour. Mustang website says that it's easy to install. Just a bracket that fits in the split between the rider and passenger seats.

Very easy install. It takes longer to take your seat off and put it back on than it does for the installation.
Right on about the relaxation of the wrists. Also allows different seating/posture positions for ease on your butt on long rides, particularly when you use your highway pegs.

I installed the SE Riders Backrest this past Spring. Same intention - only for long rides. It is SO comfy, it has yet to be removed. Wouldn't ride without it.....

Hey Jesterphatt,
Try this. As you look at the listing of the threads under the touring section, this thread has a paperclip in the upper right hand corner. Click on the paperclip and you should see the pic icons. Click on the icon and you should be able to see the pictures.

I have one and I will not ride without it even in town. One of the best investments I put on the bike.

I understand what you're saying although in this world you get what you pay for. The /////// site is free . . . see what you get? I only paid the 15 here for a year. Much better site and that seems like very little to ask. Hope you join and help support this great site. Just my 2 cents.

That doesn't work for me. When I clicked the icon I still get the "You need to be a premium member" message.
