Figure out a way to make them for the FLH series and you would sell a bunch.

Thealien,

We've tried and haven't given up. We've been able to remove the tins/ fork tube covers on the VTX 1300R but haven't figured out the FLH series yet.

If anybody knows to how to remove them easily, please let us know and if you're in the Southern CA area, we'd love to prototype your bike in exchange for a freebie!

Being as we are 3000 miles apart I don't think that would work.

You can remove the tins/cowbells once the forks are removed but I think that would not work for most due to looks.

I and others were discussing in another thread about incorporating some kind of framework onto the bottom of the fender to serve as a fork brace?

Ya know, you might be onto somethng. You really can't go over the fender because the could very likely hit the underside of the triple tree but inside the fender might just work.

There's good fender to tire clearance(stock). Something that used the fender bolts and went up over the tire to the other fender bolts.

Those are rather small bolts, though, so it might be a weak connection.

Between the fender and the framework the bolts may not be as big a deal? I hate to give my ideas away but I don't have the money for research and design. I would rather the many FLH owners get a safer better handling bike.

I would be happy to test one for you though!

You're probably right. The fender actually adds some bracing so the smaller bolts might not matter if a brace is added. However, I was just out in the garage and saw that there isn't a lot of space between the fender and the sides of the tires. I don't know if all FLs are like mine but it would be tricky to get one in there. Something to think about.
