I see that some people have used a 11" progressive shock to lower the XL 1200L low sportster. I measured the stock shock and it looks like the stock shock is 11 1/2" from center of each of the bolts.
PROGRESSIVE 412 SERIES SHOCKS PAIR 11" are around $230. Is it worth that much to get 1/2" ? Or is it more than that?
I can't speak to the 412 series or the Sportsters but I am curently running Progressive 440s on my Electraglide and they are the best thing since bottled beer. Very smooth ride and easily adjustable for heavy or light loads.
Yup they are worth the $$$, I have a set of 412's 11" on my Nightster, and along with the Mustang seat, the ride is greatly improved. It is still a 'Sporty' but a much better riding one.
