oil drain plug

I have a 2006 XL1200L and in the book it says there is a oil drain plug, the only one I can find goes from the oil tank down through the center of the frame, it's about 1/2" rubber hose, someone told me that is the plug you never mess with, it has all your crap in it, so where is this oil drain plug? It's suppose to have a clip for it, mine just shoots down through the frame and has a plug at the end of the hose and a hose clamp, any help would be appreciated.

The little plastic plug in the hose with the worm clamp that hangs down under the frame is your oil drain plug. Nice picture of it in the Service Manual. If you don't have one, you should.

I appreciate it, the manual I have shows it on the side where the crankcase is, go figure! So the plug I was talking about going through the frame is it then, cool.
