Don't forget the sportster nation

How about another catagory for the 883-1200 conversion? Mark me down for that one.

I'll copy your post to the Forum Request Thread and leave the original here for comments. Sounds like you guys do need a home and I'm a bleeding heart liberal.

To all mods, cwissler did not duplicate this thread, I did. I copied it to the forum request area for Daves consideration and left it here to see how much support other Sportster owners have for his idea.

How bout the 883-88" conversion?? Or is it 87"?? Whatever it is, I think that would be a nice little upgrade.

I agree it is a nice up grade issue is cost. we get about 95+ tq and have made 116 hp with a 1250 kit. With XB heads, and SE cams. Most of the milder kits make 90tq and 110hp and that is all bolt on parts. We just finished a 1250 with Redshift 585 cams ported heads t-header and a 45 Mik that made 92tq and 111 hp. Granted the 88 kits we do make the tq sooner butboth are fun to ride that is for sure

Steve, is there any point to doing the 1250 on an 04 1200 without changing cams and porting heads? And what about the 1250 with port-matched heads and stock cams? My fiance would like a little more grunt down low, but doesn't have $$ to spend on heads and cams in addition to the jugs and pistons.

The 1250 kit will give you a nice increase in low end and hp as well as you bumping the compression. That is if you are starting with a 1200 the 883 heads need much more work. But we have done just 1250 kits and had very good luck. They pull much harder on the low end and really run out well on the top end.
