Axtell, according to their site, those aftermarket cases come in 4" bore stock. I could be wrong of course.

Bore
Ron is referring to the stock bolt pattern XL cases, the raised deck spread bolt pattern cases that you're referring to are a different story. Get STD to fax me a bolt pattern drawing with specs and I'll tell you how big you can go.

Don't forget the deck height and spigot interference. I don't think these decks are as tall as the raised deck BT.

why would it matter bore your stock cases and run the axtel 80 or 90" cylinders... any way you look at it your gonna spend like 5 grand on a good running quality build...
although i think you can get a 1550 kit or somthing thru s&s i think they have diferent cases and storker crank....

You can build a mighty powerful XL, with the use of the OE bolt pattern, using 3 13/16" cylinders.
Several choices of strokes available.
Even at 88" (3 13/16" square) the power/weight ratio is so big that, not many will get around you.

True, a very powerful bike with a square motor, but just think how powerful it WOULD be with a 4in or bigger bore, I think he wants to go fast....I agree, big bore, short stroke. Hello higher revs, more HP, Goodbye foreign stuff..... I for one am going to build it when I'm rich. Think 4in bore 3in stroke......... Piston speed low, revs high....could be fun in a Buell....

We have done a couple 88" Axtell cylinder kits in Buells. All the clients say is, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even with OEM XL heads,(not Buell) Andrews V-6's, with a Supertrapp, they'll go 90-95 hp and 100-105 ft/lbs.

And that is a testiment to why sporty's are so much better!!!!!! 88 inches and 100 ft lbs of torque with stock heads!? I'm assuming they are ported but still. If the torque is higher then HP, then it's definitely still a somewhat conservative build. Heads setup and ported and bigger cams........ bye-bye.

I do not know the specs on that set-up.
Cams, heads etc.
