Sportster Motor

Other than the weight, why are sportster based motors so much faster??? Is it truth that most AHDRA record holders are sportster motors??? thanks

Otto is on a distinguished road
a couple of reasons better interface to the trans prone to less breakage of trans parts, less flywheel mass, more stable valve train geometry, also easier to fit largetires behind and keep balance of chassis more pure race part availability
