Suggestions???

Hey all,

I am new to the forum and just bought an 08 1200C which is almost broken in. I absolutely love the bike, but like most, not too fond of the weak sound of the factory exhaust. I guess I will need to perform a stage 1 to fix that, even though this will be illegal in my state (CA). Most HD riders here are riding with illegal equipment anyway. I have been doing some research on parts keeping value in mind. Don't want to spend more than I have to. This is what I may purchase and would like to know the member's opinions.

1. Cycle Shack slip on's
2. K&N High Flow Air Filter
3. V&H FuelPak

Is this a good combo? Will they work good together? Anything else I need? If I bolt this stuff of will it void my factory warranty? If so, is it worth it?

It's too bad I can't just put on the Cycle Shacks. I just want better sound. Not really into boosting the HP right now.

Thanks for your help..........Trav

Go with the Power Commander. It is the most popular piggy back tuner.

Go with the Arlen Ness Big Sucker it comes with the K&N filter where the Harley unit does not.

Cycle Shacks are fine.

I like your choices!

The Fuelpak will help keep you from paying for dyno time.

The slip-ons are a good choice. If you were open to a 2-1, I'd recommend a Thunderheader. Sounds nice, good for low end torque and not as loud on a sportster as the big bikes.

Take a good look at Khrome Werks exhausts too. Also, go to Fuelmoto for your Powercomnders, they install down loads free ( 2 thousand combos on file to chose from)and double the warranty at a lower price.

I would suggest the following:

V&H DRAK A/C.....probably cheapest A/C that will work as good as the very best most expensive stuff out there and you wont have to bend your leg around to reach the brake pedal!

V&H Fuel Pak......probably cheapest and easiest out there right now.

Option is the venerable DFO as this too is quite easy to use.

Cycle Shack Slip Ons........always an excellent sounding great performance muffler.

You will be able to drop the correct V&H numbers into the fuel pak and ride straight away...............without dyno time.

Try John ............orders@zanottimotor.com

www.zanottimotor.com

Great prices great service...............stay away from those wankers at Wally`s Cycle World or whatever they call themselves now......

Then when it comes time to hot up the motor etc............do a search on hnere cof the thousands of threads put up for engine builds.

All the best, Ozzie.
