Question Texas Hill Country -- April or May

I plan to head down to the Texas Hill Country this spring. I can go in either April or May. Which tends to be the nicer month weather-wise?

Well if you can make it down the first part of April the Wildflowers will be in bloom unless we get some kind of freak snowstorm. The weather should be nice then to. Cool in the morning and warm in the afternoons. I am heading up for 4 days the first week in April.

I'm not sure where I'll be headed to. I just plan to ride and try to stay dry if it rains.

LLano in April

Every year toward the end of April, LLano has a crawfish festival.

Been there the last three years and good times/beer.

Make the yearly run to Lukenbach, and around the hill country.

I say there is a good place to start. Check with LLano tourist site for the exact weekend.

enjoy and stay safe

Far 3ast is an unknown quantity at this point
I'd vote for April. By May it is gettting pretty hot. Chance of rain is probably about the same either way. FWIW, I planned my R&R from Iraq for April due to the nice weather.

We have about 8 bikes going down in mid April. We did it last October and it was great. We did all the roads mentioned above. It is a really great area that I look forward to seeing again.

Let us know your plans.
