Jake's Run on April 4th

Motorcycle Benefit Run for Jake Patterson, 5 yrs old
When : Saturday, April 4th
Cost: $20 a driver, $10 an additional driver
Where: Joshua High School off HWY 174, riding to Hico
Time: Registration begins at 8:30 am; returns at 3 pm.

Registration will be held in the community room next to JHS. Donuts will be served at registration and hotdogs will be served when you return. All proceeds will go directly to Jake's parents, Eric & Leigha.

Jake's Story:
Jake is a kindergarten student at Elder Elementary, in Joshua. He has a disorde called Congenital Myanthenic Syndrome. This disorder in itself is not that rare but what makes this child unique is the fact that he has a rare DNA mutation called CHAT. There are only 12 people known to have this, with only 6 in the USA. On January 26th, Jake came down with the flu and pneumonia and was hospitalized. Since his stay in the hospital he has coded at least four times and has been in and out of the ICU unit on a ventilator. Now they have put in a trachea to help if further ventilation is needed. He is expected to remain in the hospital at least two more weeks and then will be moved to a rehab facility for another couple weeks. Eric and Leigh have not left Jakes' side and are now going without any income. We are asking for your help to support this family in their time of need.

I'm not going to be able to make this ride due to a prior obligation, but I know my club has put it on the calendar as a ride to make. Should have a decent turn out.
