Hey,
I know it has been a long time since I first posted, but due to money reasons and a move I ended up milking the 8 year old dunlops that were on the Wide Glide until recently. I called all the businesses that were recommended, and I ended up going with Pauls Motorcycle Shop in Apache Junction. His bottom line price was slightly less than the other two, and after my last move was also the closest to home which worked out good. Paul also had the Dunlop E3's I was looking for in stock where the others did not. I brought Paul just my wheels, and he mounted and balanced them while I waited. He did not damage the wheels in any way, not even the slightest scratch, which always is a concern. I am not saying the other shops were not capable of delivering the same service I got....just relaying my experience is all.
Just wanted to give credit, where credit is due. So thumbs up to Pauls Motorcycle Shop. A positive experience to say the least. Thank you guys for your input. Oh...and I noticed as I was leaving that Paul had the E3's mounted on his FXDX which made me feel good about my tire choice too. I have enough miles on the new tires to say now that they are in my opinion a much better handling tire than the tread pattern of the old Elite2 I had on the rear (which is very similar to the OEM D402), and D401 on the front. Dunlops claims are accurate on this tire.
