New Mexico route suggestions

I'm riding out to NM in a few weeks. I will be filming the runs to put on my website. I've got the Los Alamos (Jemez) loop planned. Do any of you have any other suggestions for twisties and cool scenery? Send me an e-mail.

I used to live in Albuquerque and did the Eagles Nest/Angel Fire run and the Madrid area behind Sandia Peaks... Am I missing out on some cool back roads?

Smile New Mexico rides

Ok, so your going to do the Jemez, that's a great loop.
Do the Enchanted Circle, that would take you up to Taos, Red River, Angel Fire, and back in.
Also, the back side of the Sandias, as you know Hwy 14 from Santa Fe down to 'Querque is great, they just repaved it last summer before the filmed "wild Hawgs" there, and the road is sweeeeet!
also, don't forget to run up to Cedar Crest, and after that ride south down Hwy 14 to the Ponderosa and have a few cold ones.
Another favorite for the Buell riders is Tres Piedres to Tiera Amarilla, they call it the peak to peak run. it's very high in elevation and has some nice twisties...

Good luck! Have a great ride!

If you want to come down to the southern part of the state I would recommend Emory pass. Start in Hillsboro and ride Hwy 152 over the pass to Silver City. This ride has some great twisties with very nice scenery. I have also heard if you want to extend that ride you can head up from Silver City to the Gila Cliff Dwellings. I haven't done the Cliff Dwellings ride myself but I want to try it sometime. If you make it down here let me know how you liked the ride.

I enjoy the ride from Grants down to Quemado. Curved road but scenery is pretty cool. Lava beds on one side and huge sandstone bluffs on the other. From Quemado, you can head over to Socorro. You pass through the Cibloa National Forest and through the VLA sattelite dishes which is pretty cool.
