I'm looking to attend the 2nd New Orleans bike week from 5-8 May. Did anyone attend the 1st one and are there any recommendations as to where to stay? Any input would be greatly appreciated

I didn't even realize that there was one. I'm in Oklahoma City, but my dad lives in the Lafayette area. I may have to find more info on this, and scoot on down....

I wasn't aware of it until I read about it in EasyRider a couple months back. It doens't appear as though they got a lot of publicity for the 1st year. Definitely going as the wife and I have always wanted to do New Orleans and couldn't think of a better way to do it than on the scoot. Only downside from what I can see is that scoots aren't allowed in the Quarter from midnight to 6:00am due to some local ordinance. We've decided to stay at the Wyndham 3 blocks from the Broken Spoke. We'll hike/cab it the 2 miles into the Quarter and back.
