Road trip: Atlanta - Memphis - Dallas

Preparing for a road trip in a few weeks. In Atlanta for work and will depart there for a wk heading West. I have an idea on routes (trying to avoid the major highways) but typically find that the best routes for bikers are found by those who ride them. looking for a few suggestions on routes from Atl to Memphis? and / or Memphis to Dallas?

Last year on a road trip through Tennessee, we traveled from Graceland in Memphis to Tupelo, MS, stopped at Elvis' birthplace and on to Birmingham, AL for a stop at the Barber Museum. From Memphis to Tupelo to Birminham we were on highway 78. Good road. I'll let someone else get you from Atlanta to Birmingham.

If you have any time at all, you really need to stop at Barber.

Hwy 78 out of B'ham is the standard route for us...but I'm betting that there's a much more scenic ride.
It's not particularly adventuresome, but not a bad road either.

From Atlanta take I-75 to Chattanooga then head up I-24 to S. Pittsburg and take hwy 72 west all the way to Memphis. This will take you through Huntsville, to Florence/Muscle Shoals and on to Memphis. It's a Beautiful ride with a low stress factor. Enjoy, be safe...
