Talking Myrtle Beach Bike Week.

May 8-17th 2009

I went down to Myrtle Beach last week and scoped out North Myrtle Beach and the Southern Murrells inlet.

I'm all set to hit HB spokes Biker bar (http://www.hbspokes.com/spokes/myrtl...bike-week.html) cool update and rally map.

and the Beaver Bar along with SBB (Suck Bank Blow)

http://www.suckbangblow.com/
http://www.beaverbar.net/

I plan on staying in north Myrtle Beach, this past 3 day weekend I drove the route that goes around the "City of Myrtle" and didn't have a problem with it.

Even though there's been alot of negative press in reality there are still going to be thousands of bikers there if not ten's of thousands. See you there! (I'll be the guy on the Black HD bike).

I did the same last weekend, No problems found. I booked a
room at the north end about 2 months back thinking that
it would fill up. Well thank god I did. I called to get another room
for my brother and his wife and its full. As a matter of, the
owner told me that most of the north and is 99% full.

Looks like Murder Beach is still stuck with bike week after
all.

We have places like The Swing Bridge, Capitan Poo's and HB's
to go to and a hole lot more.

I hope the city of Myrtle Beach get the s#it straight and gets
rid of the Mayor that started all the BS.

I'm staying at the Blockade Runner. A bunch of us all booked
months back. I plan to spend my money at biker friendly
locations only. Murder beach can suck my piston.
As the old saying go's...Not A Dime In 09 in MB.

Peace:

Just saw in the news today about the nasty wild fires in MB. I can only imagine what it would have been like if they would have hit during bike week. With all that smoke, ash and crap blowing in the wind, I'm thinkin it wouldn't be a good place to be on a m/c.

I had to drop my son off at his school for drivers ed. So I made him ride bitch. He did not like that at all. After leaving him there in front of his fellow class buds and the look on his face was
priceless. Any way 701 hits rt9 and then it was straight to
Capt.Poo's for some wings and a few beers.

I must have gone down 9 about a mile from 701 and it look like
I was heading into a dense fog. Visibility was only about a 1/4
mile and thick for about 8 miles till I got past the on ramp for
31 which was closed as I rolled by. It was all clear after that.
The north end has no smoke or ash unless the wind turns south.

Currently it blowing north east and at about 5 to 10 MPH.

Not to worry about Bike Week.

I heard today that the MB hotels are worryed because they aren't booked up yet - they claim that everybody is waiting for their tax returns to come back.
Hopefully when nobody shows up inside the city limits of MB; the message will become a lot clearer to the city fathers that you don't mess with a crowd of people who spend mega bucks every time they have a party.
And from the mouth of the city manager comes the statement that the first rally isn't the one that causes the dear people of MB to hide under their beds with cotton stuffed in their ears; it's the second group that riases all the hell. I would take that to infer that he was talking about all the metric group that comes in right after the HD rally. Go fiqure.

I'm glad it didn't hit during BW too. Myrtle Beach would have found a way to blame it on the bikers.

Just got back from Capt. Poo's. The wife and I took the bike out and had breakfast
at Bob Evens and then it was off to Bass Pro Shop. Not a box of pistol ammo on the shelf. Looked around at some other stuff and then back on the bike to the Antique
shop in NMB. The wife and I love that place. After spending about 2 hours in there
it was time for lunch. Poo's make a good hot wing and some realy good buffalo Shrimp.
2 weeks to go and its Bike Week. Cant wait to get more shrimp.
