Cherokee Survivors Rally, Cherokee NC Apr 24-26
http://www.cherokeerally.com/
Anybody going or have been? We're planning to go this year and looking for a reasonably priced cabin to rent for the weekend. Most places I'm finding are in Bryson City about 15 miles away, is there anything closer? Where are the hot spots to stay? We'd like to be where the bikers are at . Also planning on doing the Tail of the Dragon, if I'm gonna be there I gotta do it .

If your look'n for a good event maybe wait for the june blueridge chapter cba event in the end of june in Hotsprings nc also same weekend Barbarosa does a wild weekend to. Cherokee rally ain't all that . Two dam hard to get and go with to many in to small a site. but maggy valley amost always has better choice of were to stay. Ride from waynesville to pisqua forest on 276,that is atleast as good and much longer with out as much chance of get'n killed on the dragon. TO MANT DUMBASS RIDERS there along with trucks, semis, sportbikes and hd's and cars all acting like rally or road race stars.

Thanks for the input but Cherokee is a done deal, we're meeting up with other people down there that weekend. I def want a Cabin, we're going to be staying with two other couples and this is the most cost effective way to do it.
I checked on the alcohol laws there, as I understand it only the Reservation is dry? Cherokee county is not.

Hey Shane! We were thinking about checking out the Cherokee Survivors Rally this year since we gave up on Myrtle Beach, but it turns out it's the same weekend we have starting line tickets to Pinks All Out in NC, so we won't make it this year.
I know Travus recommends the Cherhola Pkwy. I don't know as I'd want to ride the Dragon - I've heard too many stories about all the ijits there. Maybe during the week it's not so bad.
Post up and let me know how it goes!

couldn't find the site. I've found one that I like only a few miles away, now I just need to find another couple or two to join me. Check this place out!

Well, Cherokee was a blast! We had absolutely perfect weather the entire time saw some great bands, lots of rode the Blue Ridge and the Tail of Dragon, 1200 miles in all. I will say the Blue Ridge was much more enjoyable the the TOD, although the TOD was fun it didn't live up to the horror stories I've been hearing. There were tons of sportbikes among everyother kind of bike but LEO was out strong so no disrespectful riders that day. We got our pic taken plenty of times, when I get them I'll post up.
