Thanks for the info- been looking for something to do in the area for the last month; finally got the wife to agree to go to daytona but don't want to run that far in Feb. (weather up here is lousy. May sounds better and it's closer. Better on the old bones.

There are actually a lot of communities that want "us". In the past few years, I've actually been leaning to smaller rallies, just because exorbitant hotel rates and sitting in line in traffic don't really do it for me anymore.
Initially, I was angry over Myrtle Beach, especially since I pretty much grew up there. But the smaller rallies may just win me over this year.

I agree about the smaller rallies. I live 60 miles from Laconia but really don't go there anymore during rally week. It's not that they don't want us in Laconia (hell, NH has the highest per capita motorcycle registrations in the US) it's just that the traffic is horrific. If you've ever sat on the hill on Rt. 3 going from the Weirs to Meredith Harley, you know what I'm talking about. My favorite small rally is Gettysburg Bike Week. I've been their twice and had fun both times.

Virginia Beach usually has a rally in mid-April, but for some reason I'm not finding any info. I'm curious if they've decided to cancel this year because of the financial crisis..?

You know, it'll probably be better to to go to the land of sand and surf.
Yeah, where you get harassed by the cops, sneered at by the local shop-keep, pointed at by yocals, featured as a bunch of HA wannabee's...And then let's add the blistering your legs, your motor, and your nerves sitting in one way dead-stop traffic....yeah..you go have fun over there on the beach..Sign me up too while your at it.
Dammit Jefe!! It makes me wish I had booked MB instead of the mountains..seems like way more fun over there...
