looking for motel daytona 09
I've always gone to Myrtle Beach but this year want to try Daytona and hope for good weather. Looking for something very reasonable, nothin fancy, but fairly nice and clean, and maybe in the middle of everything on Atlantic. I was told about the Silver Sands Inn at 2119 Atlantic but havent heard anything else.
any suggestions appreciated.

I would be willing to bet that the 09 Bikeweek will be just a slow as this years Bikeweek and Biketoberfest. The hotels will be begging for customers. the deals will be great. Don't go making your reservations just yet. Wait until Feb.

Try googleing DB Atlantic hotels or ones on A1A. Should get you a bunch to choose from. With the economy the way it is I don't think it will be tough to get a room.

I'd also check around the DeLand area. A lot less traffic yet only about 30 min from Daytona, and closer to Eustis for the flat track races.

Hmm... I'm in favor of the good lower end motels myself. The ones that generally aren't on the 'Net.
By the sounds of everything, I wonder if you can just ride down and find a Motel when you get there? Wonder if good deals are to be had then?

If the economy does not turn around, I would imagine there will be a lot of rooms to choose from.

quickster In the middle of whats happen is getting hard to find. All the new stuff is up around the ormand beach area on us1 and or I-95 , Whats left on main street is not worth putting up with the city ,just see it and go. Or you can stay down around new symirna. I have stayed down there too and lots of good times there . Wait and do more research on what is going on and just pick. You might want to do a night over by orlando hd as they always have bands play'n and venders to. If your use to myrtle it is now spread out much more but more in each area. If there for a week ,maybe move around where you stay.

I have done the same thing every year for Daytona and it has always worked out very well for me. My needs for a motel are; a locking door, a shower, bed and toilet. I prefer a room on the ground floor that I can either park my bike in front of my window or roll it into the room.
I have never made reservations at Daytona. There are always vacancies, especially at the older, mom&pop motels along the beach.
My technique. Ride right down down main street until you hit the ocean then turn left. Once you pass under the arches, keep your eye out for hotels on the right. Many of them are managed by retired couples, catch the right ones and offer to pay in cash, without a receipt (goes directly into their pocket), the rate goes way down. These same places usually have grills, and hoses for you to use as well. Last year I had a nice little bungalow complete with a mini kitchen for about a 150 a night (cash).
Dont pay online prices.

Wait till you get there ,if you want to see everything you will probably find that you will move around. Some of the better parties can be had right at the place your stay'n after see'n the sites . If it happens to be crowded it can take a good while try'n to get up to the Iron Horse area. Or even to daytona speed way. If your going for the week stay the fist day or two up around ormond by the sea to ormand beach area and travel south as you get all you want out of an area, then down to daytona beach or the speed way area then after a day or two maybe down to new smyrna area . There is some great parties down there and out to sputnicks. Most of the good oll hot spots on the mainstreet beach area have been pulled back as to how crasy they use to get and even what you see ,almost gp rated now . Most of the motels do develope there own good parties. You might even find yourselves in orlando at the hd dealer, typicaly they have some great name bands there. or just take'n a break and ride'n some of the country.
