Thank you Mojave Johnson. Good advice. I will look into the Thunderheaders. What do you think of the Peacemakers adjustables from straight pipes, 50/50 down to 80 db with just a click? They don't make them for the FXSTC yet but I hope they will soon.

Hey,
Does anyone have a surging sensation, stationary throttle, cruising on a level stretch of road?

I had the surging really bad with stock ecm only in first and second coasting rpms. Don't have it with the tmax now. It's caused from a lean conditon and more so with one cylinder leaner than the other. Should not be doing it when cruising though.

Hi Ron,
I checked every thing, ign wires, checked for air leaks, changed plugs, tried the IED and the SE fueler gadgets without any success. Had the "torque" recall done. Not happy with the way this bike runs.
How does Harley let these bikes out knowing they don't run as well as a properly tuned carburetor bike?
It's almost criminal to have to spend hours and a $1000 to correct.
Does the Tmax do everything advertised, I'm assuming you have Auto Tune.

Baffles For Screamin Eagle Ii 2009
Cycle Shack has baffles for $44 a pair for the Screamin' Eagle I I 2009 exhaust for my FXSTC Softail Custom. Anyone hear them or know anything about them? Would I need a Power commander for just street use?

Hey guys,
I have an 08 Softatil Custom with Cobra drag pipes and the vance and hines fuel pack, thing runs fantastic and sounds ever better, Picked the bike up in late may and now have about 1700 miles on it. I paid MSRP for the two tone pacific blue and black and the dealer threw in saddle bags and a detachable winshield. I also added the LED tail lite. I have had 3 other bikes and this is by far the best handling cruiser ive been on.

Cycle Shack Screamin' Eagle Baffles
Just replaced the Screamin' Eagle baffles with those from Cycle Shack. Had to drill holes in the baffles. Sound is louder but not obnoxiously so. Using the same SEII chrome exhaust so the Canadian legal accreditation stamp still shows, plus the baffles are the same length as originals.Set up works well with a much more Harley commanding sound. No need for Power Commander.

My Old Bike
I have a 1986 Vulcan 750. Love it it runs great but now it is time to give it to my son and grow up to my Harley FXSTC "09 with foreward controls, SEII exhaust with Cycle Shack baffles. With the King - Queen chrome button tufted seat it looks just like my old bike all grown up so the change didn't hurt too much. NOW I'm renewed and cannot stop riding even though it is 34 degress F outside and had a snowfall. NO WINTER, I AM IN DENIAL 2400 miles in 1 month.

Is there are prettier bike than a custom? Well, I bought one, so I am biased. I think they are seriously pretty.
They are also a great ride and handle really smooth. Rode from London UK to Greece and back last summer, two up. Flawless ride the whole way.
Now that winter is coming I am thinking about adding some more pretty. Some performance enhancing chrome seems a good plan.

Oldie but Beauty
Thought all you custom lovers might enjoy these pics. This is my little bro's '85 FXSTC. It was the last year for the kick and the first for the elec start and I think the first year for the FXST. She's a beauty - paint isn't original but was done buy the guy who bought it new immediately after he took it off the showroom floor in '85.

Any suggestions for other makes of windshields? I was looking at the windvest, looks good, but its expensive.
Please let me know if you have, and if you have any other good experiences mounting windshields on the custom.

I'm new to the forum, but saw your post and wanted to let you know I have a 07 STC and bought the HD windshield, didn't really like it; bought a Windvest, it was better but ultimately decided I just wasn't a windshield kind of guy.
I had the Windvest on for about a month before demounting and decided to sell it, so if you're interested I'd part with it for a reasonable price. Mounting was simple and I assume the spacing, diameter, etc wouldn't have changed from 07 to 08.
I still have the box to ship in and live in Tallahassee so if you're interested let me know.
Safe riding,
