"Could it mean that they have a fix for the vibration/rattle under acceleration?"

I had it done to my bike last week and it really does make the bike run better. Funny thing is that most of the dealers don't even know about it yet. So you might want to have a copy of the actual bulletin handy to show them.
You can get a pdf copy of it here if your interested in it.

http://www.box.net/public/qyad1e3t1n

I would suggest you have it done, even if you have already put pipes, AC and a PCIII on it, if you have a SERT don't bother the SERT will overide it anyway.

I had mine done Wednesday, can't tell anything is different to be honest. If it helps it run cooler then I guess it did some good.........seat of the pants tells me pretty much the same as it was.

Congrats! I just replaced the seat to the thinner one like yours....hard as a rock, but it looks good!! It's pretty easy to change out so I'll slap the big puffy one on long rides.

Cool Waiting New Bike

Hi I am waiting to take delivery of what will be my 6th Harley. Trading my 03 Deuce in on a 07 FXSTC Fire Red Pearl should be here by end of July I am told.
Am trying to decide what bits I want with it
The Retro seats look the part. Can someone who has one let me know what they are like to ride with. Are they narrower than the standard seat.

Going to get the Fork legs chrome plated. Less than half price of buying Chrome ones. Also having all my bar controls chromed as well.
I was thinking about chroming the rear wheel as well but unsure just at this time.

Also putting on NESS 3" forward ext on pegs. Have them on my Deuce and is so much more comfortable. Was thinking I would have to do with out to start with till I saw some for the 07 model the day.

Heaps of other things I want ut need to balance the budget at some stage.

Just gotta keep ya knees in the breeze.

The retro seat is narrower and quite a bit stiffer. I'm getting used to it now, but will put on the other seat for the long rides.

I woundn't chrome the rear wheel. It comes standard with the polished aluminum wheel. Just spray it down with windex every other ride and it'll stay like new.

I'd like to try out the forward extensions myself. I'm close to 6"2" and need the extra stretch! Have fun because it's the nicest bike out there, IMO!

Thanks for the info Beez.
Sock seat looks a bit puffy.

Good to know about the rear wheel as I was wondering how it would go once out of the show room.

The 3" ext I have on my Duece is probally the best money I have spent. I am 6ft and always felt like I was cramped on the Softails. I always seemed to be pushing back in to the seat every time I tried to stretch my leg. The NESS ext was the best value for money at the time and Harley didn't have its 3" ext controls out at the time.

I was hoping to use my ext NESS kit but as the Foot peg set up is so different apparently was a bit of a pain to do. I was really happy when I found the NESS kit for the 07 models. They come with all the gear you need to do the job and you get a braided rear brake line as well. Good stuff.

If you like to stretch out a bit you will never regret the ext kit,

Great looking both of them.

Hope U both enjoy riding them.

I have the retro seat. I like the looks of it and I ride with it all of the time. But it is hard and it seems like I am sitting right on my Tailbone. I just got back from Austin (about three hours cause of the route I took) and my butt is still a little sore 6 hours later. Anyway you can see photos of it somewhere in this thread.
