Actually, Over Thanksgiving I traded in an '04 Deuce that I had for 14 months. The Deuce was a nice bike, but just couldn't get comforatable on longer rides. Plus, this damn '05 Heritage came along and knocked me on my ass. I've never looked back.

That is a sweet looking Heritage. But, I would HIGHLY suggest you install a lay-back license plate. IMHO, the stock setup takes away from the rest of the bike.

Miles,
Talk to me. I've looked around a little for something chrome. Thoughts?

There are many different sources. I like the one from HD and installed one on my Heritage. The back is just smooth chrome - you can't see any bolts. Looks great. This is link for the part http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

Couple pics of my 04 Heritage. Just changed the front and rear turn signals to bullet style.

Oldy But Goody
I own a 1987 FLST. My first n only Harley so far. I've loged 123k miles, but not without having some work done on it since new. Yea, twice I've had the engine torn down and rebuilt. The last time was just this last Sep. I'm looking forward to many more miles again. When I get my step son to show me I'll post some pictures. Love my ride!

Ok, heres a question: Will the laydown license plate on my sportster work on my heritage? It looks like it will and I think its a "multi-fit item", so I'm guessing that it will.
I haven't sold my sporty yet and now I am starting to eye up what parts I may be able to strip off of it. So far I think that is about all I am interested in...maybe the passenger foot pegs (kyrokin with heal plates) but I know my wife wants floor boards eventually. So, I may have to run that past her first to see if its really worth it to her to save those footpegs.

Nobody answered, so I think I'm gonna try to exchange the laydown license plate (on sporty) with my stock one (on heritage). Should work ok...or it looks like it will anyhow.
I think I'm gonna get one of those turnsignal kits for the rear that makes them real close to the tail light. My wife asked me if I want theat or a windsheild bag for a Valintines day gife...so I think I will opt for the turn signals and just get the bag later on.
Well, she also won me a new rifle at our Elks club game feast. Its a modle 77 ruger 30-06 but I exchanged the 06 for a .300 winchester Mag. So, I been thinking about asking for a scope (leopuld) but that may be pushing it a bit...I think I will still just get the turnsignal kit.

'03 Heritage Here
I love my heritage. It is the sixth bike I've owned and far better than any of the earlier Harleys. i haven't done nearly as many modifications as some of you but will continue to upgrade/personalize it in the future.
So far, Stage 2 Big bore kit, K&N airfilter, Mustang seat and pinnon, V&H staggered Bigshots which I love, highway bars, passenger foot boards halogen headlight and driving lamps.

Mine's a little older
I've got a 1988 Heritage which is my first Harley and I am thinking about leaving my wife for this bike! Can't get enough of it. It hit 50 degrees in Detroit today so you know where I was at. The picture was taken after reassembly from doing a ring job, base gaskets and honing the cylinders this winter (hence all of the oil on the tarp). Did the work myself (except for the honing), not too bad. Quite a simple machine actually.
Greetings from the Motor City.
