Hey I'am new to this site. This is my 3rd Fatboy (2005) I just had cam gears put in at 20,000 miles. Love the new cams (37G) but have noticed more valve train noise. The dealer and a indy shop both told me to "run it" any body got any input on this subject?

sup everybody! im new to the forums and i just had to share my recent fatboy experience. btw, there is not another bike i could imagine having! my old man got an 03 and i fell in love then. just picked up my 08 last month. its the epidemy of bike imo!
anyway,
i walk away from her, went into work, came right back out because the alarm and clunk noise summoned me. i rush back only to see her laying on her side! . just a few days prior i had slammed her down, and parking on a slick surface with a bad angle was not a smart idea with an already sketchy "old" stand setup. the amount of damage was slim to none but, none the less, she was laying down . keep in mind the 1st payment was just made and i have resorted to ramen for a while. oh and im only 24 my problem at this point is, my recently flawless new baby is now scarred along with my emotions. my feeling are hurt but making a claim to repair (i would imagine a $1500 slip up) or trying to live with the scars is hard for me to decide. i would take it down to have her put back together if money was no issue (but when is that the case). but i cannot hop on her and feel the same as i did when we left the dealer for the 1st time. (only being at one month old that was pretty tragic for me to deal.)
needless to say having this happen to my new fatboy is devistating! its such an awesome ride and i couldnt be more thrilled about having one!

Fatboy Service manual

Does anyone know of a Service/ Repair manual thats specific to a 05 fuel injected fatboy? I have a generic softtail manual and some items just dont match up to my bike. Im basically a novice when it comes to motorcycle repair but looking to see what everyone else uses.
In search of good information.. can you supply?
thanks for the help

I just put a Kuryakyn Laydown Tail light on my 07 FatBoy. Fits the lines of the rear fender and doesn't stick out like that stock tail light does.

New Guy

Whats up kats? New guy here to the forum. I just bought my 04 Fatboy and it is fantastic. Great deal and great bike. I got a quick question though. I would like to add a solo sping seat. I scouted the forum and found a link to the Jammer Catalog and found a seat with pan and hardware. Here is the question though. Is it possible to cut the lower back rise from the pan without screwing up the look or jepordizing the ride. I know this probably aint the look alot of you would go for. Yet, I have always had an attraction to early model bobbers and would like to get alittle bit of old school and new school mashed together in the over all look. So not to freak anyone out, I will be saving the seat and all hardware. Packing it up and maintaining it all.
I checked with heartlandusa and their conversion kits are cool but way heavy price wise. So thats not really an option. Any suggestions to help achieve the look I want would be heavily considered and welcomed. Thanks guys and I hope to have some great fun with this page. Later

By the way, I will be using a Springer front fender flipped and cut to replace the rear fender. Unfortunatly that is a long and involved project and will have to wait a bit. Or I might start that shin-dig before the seat mod. Who knows? Thanks.
Later.
