I would like to know how you got those bags on without relocating your turn signals??
And are the bags quick release? Been trying to figure out what to do to my 06 fatboy on long trips.. thanks

The 36ers are a very nice size, I can fit a half helmet in them with no problem, and they have quick detach hardware with no turn sig relocation. however, the 42's dont have detachable hardware and I'm not sure about the turn sig's with them, also you will have to have some low exaust with them as well, just give them a call and they will give you the low down on all the combinations for your bike.

Hey!
Anyone have any ideas about installing an oil pressure gauge and maybe a tach on a Fatboy? I have an 04, and I don't see much info on this setup!
I've found mini tachs and speedo combos, but I have a speedo, I want to know my oil pressure at all times! Just changed over to Amsoil and picked up a couple of noises that are bothering me! Thanx Pappie

Carrie and I both have the oil pressure gauge mounted in the typical location - right side, mounted to the rear rocker box bolts.

I went for the speedo/tach combo.

Rear lowering kit for 05' Fatboy
Has anyone lowered the rear of their Fatboy? I have an o5' with an extended warranty that runs through 09'. Would it impact my waranty if I bought the lowering kit through the dealership? And, should I be concerned about clearance, both with the fenders and road? Am I asking the right questions? Thanks in advance...

Yes you can lower it and don't go more than 2" and you are fine. It will ride different at 2 full inches lowered though. Just so you know.
BTW. Dump that extended warranty and pocket the cash. The only person making money on that warranty is the company you bought the policy from.

I have one of the Ness Oil Pressure gauges also.
This is the tac I have on my bike. It is the DHT-1000. Not in the way and very useful.

When you say it will ride different...how would it ride different? Stability-wise, or how? Also, the kits I see from HD dealership only take it down 1". Since I do have the warranty...any gotchas there?
Thanks...

When you lower something (unless you use different shocks that have tighter coiled springs) you are just lossing shock travel. 2" lowered bikes ride very stiff compared to a standard height bike. Personally I would not use a 1" lowered HD shock. The progressive shocks would be a much better choice for a 1" lowering kit. Also I would lower the front as well.

Looks like there's not enough FatBoys out there...
OK, I'll try to post a picture of my FLSTFSE a 2005 Screaming Eagle FatBoy with some mods to keep it interesting.

Lowering seems to be a matter of personal preference. I ran the Progressive lowering springs about 2" down on the rear for a long time. Just had to keep the preload up so it didn't bottom out on bumps, and had to be careful when going over speed bumps. The biggest negatives are that you may wear the surface of the back of your belt on the starter jackshaft, and your cornering angles will be significantly reduced. (You'll move from scraping your boards to scraping the frame in the middle of the bike.) Ride becomes stiffer too.
I have the Progressive Airtail system now and alternately run it from a little higher than stock for cornering, to dropped down almost to the stops for looks. Again, cornering safety and belt wear are the biggest problems when lowered.
Also, especially with my bike lowered down on the stops in the rear, I'm glad I did not lower the front. Drop the front and your lean angles are gone. Plus, for me, I like the look of the lowered rear with the stock height front.
Just sayin'...
