Recomended after market Denim Black paint source?

hi all. I'm ezra from Tel-Aviv, Israel.
I'm the proud owner of the ONLY denim black street bob in Israel.

Now, I want to paint some of the chrome stuff on the bike (strut covers, football AC cover) in flat black and get a result that will be as close to the original denim black paint as possible.

I intend to paint ONTOP of the chrome, as I don't want to damage the chrome incase something won't go well.
What is the most recomended paint brand/type for the job?
Do I need a prymer?
How do i dillute the paint and to what level?

Thank you
Ezra

You can NOT paint over chrome without either stripping the chrome or using a primer that will destroy the chrome. Chrome is too slippery for paint to adhere. Maybe start living on e-Bay?

You can get denim black from the moco by the quart. There is no base coat needed for it. You just prep shoot primer and then coat with denim black.

Never Ever could you get the paint to stick long enough to enjoy the look...The first time you attempt to wash or clean it you'd be screwed. Powder Coating is the answer but it wrecks the chrome when it's sandblasted in order for the powder coating to mechanically bond to... Better find another way. I'm with Mega...start buying take off parts off E-Bay.

A friend of mine lightly sand blasted his chrome till it was dull and took it over to Rhino Truck bed liner. The dude sprayed all the parts for $80.00. Looks great and it's rock tough!

You do not need to alter the chrome just powder coat over it. That is what I have seen and done myself. I have been messing with it and done bunches of parts for freinds as i get better at it. I have done several chrome ATV wheels and there are holgin up without any trouble. I just cleaned them and coated and baked. If any one is intrested in powder coating check out http://forum.caswellplating.com I bought several things from them all works great. I would not want to do this for a liviong but small parts are easy to do and results have been great. I found myself coating all kinds of things. I have two pistons out of the Nitro bike that I use for book ends and I coated them . I have been working on trying out masking things off to have part coated and some not, not as easy as one would think.

Krylon Rust Tough in "Flat Black". IT STICKS TO CHROME, yet comes off easily with paint remover. Gasoline won't touch it. It's an exact match to Denim Black. I used this on my main Harley in my avatar. Inexpensive and durable.

* No primer required - direct to metal
* Dries to the touch in less than 30 minutes
* Superior fade resistance
* Easy soap and water cleanup
* Low odor
* Long-lasting rust protection
* One-coat coverage

Other than HD directly, are there sources for Black Denim or somthing similar? Isn't is just flat black paint?

I plan on repainting a spare tin set for my Night Train. Want to go all flat black.

Thanks.

All the major paint companies have flat/semi - flat paints/clears . I have done a black base with DCC-2060 semi clear with good results . U could also us John Deer Blitz black its a flat acrylic enamal black. Its durable and its cheap about 30 bucks for a gallon . No clear is needed . The JD paint is made by Sherman Williams.

LOL, John Deere Blitz Black is awesome paint. I worked at a John Deere dealer and we couldn't keep that stuff on the shelf. I painted some wheels with that stuff and it wears like iron. I also painted under the hood of a car and it never so much as chipped. I think I still have a can of it that's about 10 years old in my garage.
