How do you get a matte finish?

OK v-twin forum painters, how do you get a protected matte finish on a bike? I know they make matte paints, is there a matte clear coat? Is there some crazy ass technique to get it? Gonna customize my bike over the winter, and this is one part of it. Thanks!

What is a motorcycle? Sure, wheels, tins, motor, seat, bars, that isn't what a motorcycle is, that's what a motorcycle NEEDS. A motorcycle IS freedom, plain and simple....freedom.

I have a good friend named Matt that's a scooter painter in Kansas City. I've always thought he was in a federal witness protection program byt the way he acts sometimes. So if I sent you to him to get your paint job would that be called a Protected Matte finish??

Sorry Wolfmann just couldn't resist

It's a special additive they add to make the paint matte finish. You can make any color matte finish.

Yea you can make clear coat matte also. It's the additive. You can mix it yourself and make it from satin to totally dull. Just depends how much additive you add. Go to a paint shop and tell them what you want to do and then do some test strips.
