changing Heritage softail to fatboy

has anyone done this with the front fender and rear fender?

Is the rear fender the same on both?

I really want a fatboy but like the look of the silver motor better on the heritage softails.

So I am htinking I can change out the front fender on the Hertiage and it will then be a fatboy.. Is their somehting else I am missing here?

The wheels are solid on the fatboy, No studs on a fatboys seat either. The heritage has that metal fender tip on both the rear and front fenders. Fatboys do not come with those. I think that is about it.

The "new" Heritage is a Fat Boy with the Heritage fenders. I'm sure you could switch em out.
But then again those fenders may grow on you.

diffs

the Fat Boy Has a different fenders both front & rear. The rear Heritage has a rear turn signal light bar that has an indention w/ mounting holes. The Fat Boy's (turn signals) mount off the fender struts. Hence, different fender. The front is in no way similar in style...the only thing in common is the mounting holes. Buy a set of take-off sheet metal off E-Bay, and a set of wheels. Not a cheap proposition...

if i purchase the heritage I am just going to get a front fender to match the fatboy fender. Otherwise I like the spoke wheels... and the rear is not that hideous.

The rear fenders are the same, just the lights are different. Looks like the only other differences in those two bikes are the wheels, paint and engine color. I personally like the new Heritage better than the fatboy, except the engine needs some chrome!

Yes, they are the same shape, and the lights ARE different. So if a fender with Indentations and holes (to mount the different lights) vs. a fender without said holes & such are "the same" then you're correct.....

I did just that

I found a front fender on Ebay, correct color and spinstripe, for $100. I bought a Fatboy front wheel with like new tire for $50, Ebay again. The rear wheel was a new take-off from my harley dealer for $100 and added a new rear tire for.
I left the rear fender alone as I didn't want to have to change the rear turn signals.
I like the solid wheels simply because they are easier to clean and if you pick up a nail you can put a plug in it and get home. With spoked wheels and tube type tires you are screwed.
The Fatboy wheels are cheap now because there are so many of them out there as take-offs. You can usually find a pair for less than $200.00

i would like to start with a silver motor instead of a black one. I also like the 06 paint on the heritage softail versus the fatboy with the fatboy logo.
