Custom Chrome Handlebar Wire Extension Kit?

Hey guys,

Began work on my 12.5" apes conversion for my FXDWG today. Anyone with a Custom Chrome catalog that can tell me what the part number is for the handlebar wire, extension kit. Their web site blows, and I seem to have misplaced my catalog. Thanks in advance,

Fangar

My Custom Chrome Catalog and the Iron Eagle Online Catalog show a handlebar wiring extenstion kit for 1973 through 1981 models (P/N 15260) and for 1982 through 1995 models (P/N 26293). The catalog does not show a wiring extension kit for any model after 1995.

Big Mac,

Thanks for taking the time to look that over for me. I got everything apart and made some measurements. It seems that I am going to be able to use my standard harness without any splices added. I have about 5 inches to spare (At full bar travel) where it comes out of the top frame rail. What a major plus. I guess beacuse my Wide Glide had 10" apes to start with. The 12.5" was not a major jump. Anyway thanks very much again for looking that up.

Hey Fangar have a look at my thread today showing the wiring pin remover tool from Cyborg Cycle - might save you some pain qwhen you pull your wires from the plugs - thats if you are going to run them inside of couse.

Thanks Ozzie,

I finished the wiring last night (Inside the bars). I was able to easily use a small punch to release the wires for the Deutsch connectors. Thanks though. Just have to swap the throttle cables, and the clutch cable and I will be rerady to put her all back together.

No problem Fangar, and just as a matter of interest I have also ordered Russell`s custom brake line tubing and connectors so I can run the brake line inside the handlebars and then attach this to magnum chromites single disc lower brake line to complete the install.

Later I will go hydraulic on the clutch and also run the clutch line inside the handlebars, down inside the frame and exit near the clutch housing.

That sounds like it swill be sweet. What a nightmare to install though. Also the Hydraulic clutch kit is sooo expensive too. Let us check it out if you ever get it done.

Yeah no sweat bro I will show the picks - I am just waiting for all my sh*t to arrive so I can start playin with it!

I really tossed up on the ape hangers - I just love them so much especially 16" with 2" risers - but after my tour of duty here in the middle east I will bring the bike home and shipping it with apes is a no no deal. Pity
