That is a damn good price...any helmet I do starts out at $200 and goes up from there depending how much airbrush work or if it has a candy color or colorchanging paint. So in a nutshell depends how expensive the product you put onto it is. The more steps and layers the more $ per hour you are burning.

I use PPG paints on most helmets unless the request is for HoK. This particular job being only ghost flame over black requires no custom airbrushing, and likely no pinstriping. And I've already mentioned the surface area issue.
A quick word on PPG paints as opposed to House of Kolor. Some people think that because PPG is less expensive that it is not a quality paint. This couldn't be farther from the truth, check out any autobody/collision shop in the U.S. and at least 90% of them are using PPG paints exclusively. PPG has been around for a very long time, and it has become an industry standard in many areas.
You can find cheaper paints that work well on helmets, Createx is one of them, but I personally don't prefer acrylic enamels. I use only PPG or HoK urethane enamels. Its not to be said that you can't get good results with something like Createx or something else, but its just an artist preference is all.

Badger,
I like PPG DBC's....for the little experience I've had with them. I use House of Kolor for the most part because it's in my cofort zone being somewhat new to the urethane's and i like the KK's + intercoat. I know the DBC Toners are similar, but like I said...it's an experience + comfort zone to me. I have used Auto Air and Golden Fluids at times when all I had to spray in was my basement at the old house. I now have a garage and have upgraded to the uro's....whioch are better all around: easier to spray, better finished product, and easier cleanup of my equipment. The waterbased stuff is a little soft for hard surfaces in my "opinion". I have seen some great results with it from other artists though.

Great point Gary,
Every artist here likely has a comfort zone and some will differ from others greatly, and some only mildly. When I started painting, I was taught with PPG and then moved onto House of Kolor. I love both, but they have their differences.
I too have seen artists do some amazing things with waterbased paints that just seem to contradict everything I had learned, but that is where their comfort zone comes in I guess. Maybe one of these days I'll dabble with them some more, but I'm extremely picky about putting what I call 'foreign' paint into my guns and airbrushes. hehehe.

I have a Shoei Full Helmet, would like it painted to go with my Black 2003 FLHRCI. Any ideas, email me, along with price range and shipping address.
My idea The bike is a black 2003 HD FLHRCI, want to go go with a silverized pearl to match well with all the chrome, also want a ghost RKC emblem designed in . Its ghost flames that I like, but beyond that, need help.
