Repairing large holes in fiberglass saddlebags

ive got and 85 tour glide classic. the guy that owned it before me had installed lights in the sides of the saddlebags, very poor job i might add, but there are now holes in the sides the size of half dollar coins. anyone know the best way to repair these on my own?

Take a bag to an auto body shop and talk to them. You might find that they will fix it for not much more $$$ than you could.

Sage advice. Once upon a time I constructed my own make-shift paint booth, bought all the necessary equipment to paint, then shot a few of my own vehicles. Now that I'm back on CA, it's all but impossible to shoot at home without being turned into the local authorities. I had to use a body shop twice in the past two years and was surprised at just how inexpensively I could get things done! Turns out the "expensive" repairs are, coincidentally, those which are being paid for by insurance companies with strict deadlines. Those of us "cash" customers who can wait a couple of weeks can get some very nice work done very inexpensively.

But to your point... Fiberglass work is very easy. No more difficult than the paper mache projects we all did in second grade. Just a bit more sanding. ;-)
