Gripes with grips

I need to replace the grips on my 77 FX. Glued on and I'm not sure about what technique/method to remove. Handlebars have holes for wires etc, so air use is not an option. Any other success storeys? Thanks Jonathan

If you don't want to use the left grip again, just take a knife and slit it/cut it off. I wanted to reuse mine until I can get the new heated grips wired in, I just kept twisting and pulling (and cussing a lot) and eventually got it off.
