Spray Bomb Recommendation

Wanted to paint my fork lowers and crash bar black, then, if I liked it, have them powder coated later. Anybody have a good process for using a spray bomb to paint chrome? Would I have to strip the lowers or could I paint over the clear?

rough it up pretty good with #1 or 2 steel wool, prime it and paint it with epoxy (kitchen appliance) spray paint. Apply at least 2 coats of primer and 3 or 4 of the paint.

Good idea with the epoxy paint Rob. I would add that the best way to prep chrome is to have it glass beaded.

I would honestly just call a powdercoater to see how much it would cost to have done. It may end up costing more if you paint it and then have it down afterwards...
