I love that set up but the price is WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I considered trying to redesign the RK's new bags to include that sort of set up and it just was not worth it. Had I considered it before I made the newest set of extended bags, maybe. It is not only a redesign of the lids but of the bags as well. As it is I have two sets of custom extended bag lowers that won't see the bike because I have redesigned the mold for a flatter face and crisper lines.

I would be checking out Bad Dad for slick hard bags, and you cannot beat their service and craftsmanship either...

They don't have that? I thought they had a few options as to how theirs opens. I know I've seen some open by remote which was the cats azz...You should send an email to inquire if you don't see it...

The remote ones are the ones he pictured by Gator and they offer them in a manual lift and the power remote actuated.

I am sure if you wanted to reverse engineer the design you could use a automotive rear window hatch gas prop and rig your own forward hinge. The rear latch would be tricky and ALL the body work on the bags and lid to "undo" the factory latch.

\With all the fiberglass work I am doing on the road king, and all the bags I have laid to get what I want I probably could have worked that out by now. Funny thing, I'm now considering making a mold for the slant bottom screaming eagle style extended hard bags.

I really need to focus!

Stuff looks great, but the prices are way up there. To much for me to afford.
