1997 Heritage Softail Sheetmetal will it fit my fatboy?

It's a 1994. Trying to see how much work needs to be done before picking up the set I am looking at.

The tins will be a direct swap but there are some differences. Keep in mind that if you are going to run the Heritage rear fender you will need to lenghten your wiring harness for the tail-light and turn signals. Also your existing Fatboy rear fender struts will have holes in them for the wiring that runs to the existing strut-mounted turn signals. The holes are not large but are there.

Also the '94 models had a front-wheel driven speedometer. This changed in the 96-later models to an electronic speedo. The "newer" front fender may not have the chrome eyelet for your existing speedometer cable.

The heritage has the dimples on it under the taillight so you will be running a light bar for turn signals instead of having them on the struts. The 97 rear fender will have a cutout for fuse box, which you cover with a flap of rubber if need be. I don't think it will be too much work to switch out. Sounds like you would be buying a set of tins off a 97? The other recommendation I have is to be using a FXST tank with the higher gal capacity, but then you would be looking at having to paint to match. Lastly, the 97 tanks will have different bung holes so you will need to get the LATE 96+ style gas caps.
