Will a Sportster Peanut Tank fit on a Softail?
I have a 2000 FXST and wanted to put a sportster peanut tank on it. Will this fit? what modifications would need to be made so it would work? I have seen kits to mount these on softail frames. Another question is, will a fuel injected tank fit on a carb bike? What needs to be done to make this work? Was looking to mount a black nightster tank (only has Fuel Injected tanks) or a black 883R roadster tank (Carb if possible or FI)
Does anyone have any pics of a sportster peanut tank on a HD Softail? Curious what it would look like. Sometime in your mind it looks different than reality.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

I'm sure after lots of modifications, you could make it work- but for what? I think you may be disappointed with the look. Most Sportster style tanks on bigger bikes tend to be a bit longer, from what I've noticed. Putting that tiny little short tank on there is going to look like just that... a Softail with a Sportster tank.
Have you found a tank and actually held it up next to your bike to see how it might look? Played with photoshop yet to get an idea? Hate to see you mutilate it.

My thoughts were more related to not having enough fuel to go anywhere.
Would be like riding from gas station to gas station with no other destinations in mine.

That was why I wanted to see a Pic. To see how it fit. Dont have a tank to put up next to it. I could try Photo Shop. Better if someone could send me a pic. As far as Gas. That doesnt really bother me. I can always go back to the Fatbob Tank.
Anyone know what Mods need to be done to make this work?

Thats Exactly what I have been thinking about doing. Peanut tank, spring seat, open belt, cut fender. I think it would look really nice. Food for thought. Much Appreciated on the pic.
Does anyone know if you can use a FInjected tank on a carb bike and what you need to make it work? Also, WTB kits to mount the sportster tank?
Forum Never Fails to give answers. Great site. Havent been on here in awhile. Great to be back.

My bike and a sportster I really like. Love this tank. If I had my way I would keep the one I have and buy an 883R and make it all black like this one. Upgrade to 88" XB Ported Heads, Cams, new hurricane breather, Black thunderheader, and rip..........(Nallins Racing Stage 3 Engine Kit 100+HP and TQ.)

No problem. If you're going to do all the other stuff to make the bike flow, then I take back my comments about it not looking good. For some reason I thought you were just going to slap a peanut tank on a BT and be done with it..

why dont you ride much? got plenty bars really close to home?
you may want to build a motor that will get some mileage before losing the big tank.
B motor stands for boulevard cruiser?
