Getting to repaint the Electraglide

I just painted my buddies 97 Softail and it turned out so well I am going to repaint my glide. I had the racks on the tour pac and side cases. I removed them, what is the best way to patch the holes? I don't want them to pop out after I paint the bike.

Glass or ABS? If glass, you can use 'kitty hair' to patch - has actual strands in it and works great. Then I usually do a skim coat of filler over to smooth. If ABS, they do make a special filler for that application, but I have never used it to repair drilled out holes before.

Be prepared as it will take 3-4x the materials and time as that softail did...

Good luck,

Pat

Get the kitty hair - stuff works great! It's made by evercoat. Comes in a qt, and uses the same hardner as the body filler. Just put a little on the bottom as well as the top to fill the holes.
