Whats up?

Whats up with Harley and their paint codes?I have a rear fender that i will need to repaint the same factory dark metalic blue color as the tank and front fender and they refuse to give me any paint codes for my bike...a 2008 sporty 1200c.They are even giving me a hard time selling me the correct color themselves. Its not like i am asking for their bank account numbers or something. Can anyone give me some advice or help on finding the correct paint code for my bike?

Most good quality paint store retailers have the ability to "scan" your paint on the bike and formulate a match for you. Check your "yellow pages and let your fingers do the walking, good luck.

Yeah, don't go to Harley! Go to the source - a PPG dealer, who mixes all the paints. There is a sticky here with some paint codes, but take a fender with you to a PPG dealer and they will be able to put it on their color eye and get an exact match. They have the entire line of HD colors.

Or you could just go to a bodyshop and see if they will do it for you...

After reading a few threads in the paint section i think driving over to the PPG dealer and having the paint analized would be the best course of action. Thanks for all the input...this site is great!!Jason
