95 FXDWG Rear Fender Struts??

hi
i just bought a 95 wide glide. my question is. the guy i got the bike from put a 140 tire on the back. (its fine when solo riding) when riding 2 up, the tire hits the rear fender strut inside the fender. if the strut is removed, what it anything could happen?? will this make the bike loose any structural integrity?? thanks

Maybe you ought to look for a lower profile tire...struts usually hold the fender on.....

Does the tire really hit the fender strut or does it hit the bolts holding the fender to the strut?

If the tire hits the bolts, check to see if the bolts are installed so that the heads are on the inside of the strut and the nuts are on the outside of the strut.

If the tire actually hits the strut, then you need to switch back to a 130 tire.
