Which seat for RK Custom
Have an 07 FLHRS on the way and am told the stock seat is useless.
I need comfort........hem-roids!!!!!!!, but not too bad, so....
I see on HD site #51093-04A Sundowner Touring for RK Custom or #51157-04A Comfort Stitch for RK's. Had Corbin on FXDWG and was too hard. Plus, I have a $500 HD spending certificate, so probably a Sundowner.
Which one would be comfy, give back support, and not make the riding position higher? And, are Sundowners leather? I am 6' and 190 lbs., 30" inseam.
Thanks.

Being a monkey person,..you probably have long arms. Without a seat that sits you back some,..the beach bars may be to close. Reconsider the Corbin Classic Solo...works for 8 and me.

So, you fellas sit side by side or one in back of the other? And if so...........................may I ask who "brings up the rear"?

damn... those are some funny proportions... I'm 5'8" with a 30" inseam...
HD seats are junk in my opinion... think Corbin... they will custom modify the seat to your body size and bike. Call Gus at Corbin in Hollingsworth.
Also, click my link and then the seat tab for more seat options... I researched this thing long and hard...

Yes I know, 6' 30" inseam, tends to make the tail drag at times.
I will research your link & Corbin. Thanks.

I have both. The Sundowner is a nice wide comfortable bucket that sits me approx 1 inch lower and back about 1 inch then the stock seat on my Street Glide. The Comfort Stitch is a nice wide comfortable bucket that sits me approx 1 inch higher, but no further back, then stock.
Why both? I like the Sundowner, my wife likes the wider pillion seat of the Comfort Stitch. I would rate the padding on the Sundower seat as med/firm, on the Comfort Stitch I would rate it as med.
regards

I'd recommend you wander over to ebay and search for spock123. That's Jenni from Benji's in W.Va's user name and she's selling the Sunray heated seat for about half of it's retail. Its a very comfortable seat with or without the heat and your passenger should love it on those cool Jersey evening rides.

I happen to like my stock seat so if any of you guy with stock Custom seats find it taking up valuable space maybe I could take it off your hands.

I have advanced from tree branches, although a nice black leather pole might be a thought.
And......is there any photos of you & Gray straddling your seat? That would be just peachy!

My vote is for the Sundowner. It sits you deep in the bucket so you sit down into the bike. It has a raised back on the seat to offer back support, and it is very comfortable. I have 25,000 miles on the Sundowner that I have now and it looks and feels virtually new! I'm not sure...but I believe that the seating surface is leather where the remainder is soft vinyl. However...even in the Florida sun I have never left a sweat streak on the seat! I know that you have to keep those ol' hemoroids dry... ya know.
