Best Seat for Fatboy

I'm certain that a similar question has been asked before however.....here goes.

I just bought a Mustang Super Wide Touring Seat for my 02 Fatboy.

Since I was tortured by the stock seat for the last 8k miles, I felt as though I had to do something.

After 75 miles on the bare saddle, the discomfort was serious. With plenty of powder in the old shorts, a gel pad and a sheepskin fur, I could just about double my pleasure, double my fun to 150 miles before experiencing pain and numbness.

The question is, how much of a difference should the new Mustang saddle make ? I do recognize that this is a matter of individual preference however I'm interested in anecdotal information about the relativele improvement experienced with the addition of a new seat.

Also, I've heard that the best way to fight monkey butt syndrome aside from swapping saddles and adding a 6 speed gearbox is as follows.
Put plenty of medicated Gold Bond Powder in an adult diaper, put the adult diaper on next to the skin. Put on any other clothing you care to wear. A Depends as a top layer will probably say something about you better left unsaid to your riding buddies.

This is supposed to keep your posterior, thighs and low back comfortable for many choppy miles on the back road. Not much worse that that itching burning feeling that creeps up after 300 miles with another 300 miles left to get back home.

Anyone ever go the depends route ?

Thumbs up

Frank,

I don't have my fatboy anymore. Sold it to get an Ultra but I had the Mustang touring seat on my 03 fatboy and it made a huge difference in comfort. I think the really big difference noticed was when I rode it to the dealership to pick up the ultra and switched back to the stock seat just before leaving the house. With the stock seat my back would be aching at the end of a relatively short ride of 100 miles. With the mustang I made the ride from Reno, NV to Sacramento, Ca non stop a couple of times. Something I couldn't do with the stock seat. It felt a little odd under butt at first but I adjusted to it pretty quick. Just my opinion but I don't think you'll be dissapointed with the mustang at all.

I need to get rid of my mustang seat from the fatboy. I'll probably ebay it when I have time.
